South Africa to Sue US & UK for Complicity in Gaza Genocide
Nearly 50 South African lawyers, led by attorney Wikus Van Rensburg, expressed plans to filed a lawsuit against the US and UK, asserting their complicity in Israeli forces' war crimes in Palestine.
Biden Makes History as First President Sued for Complicity in Genocide
Joe Biden made history as the first U.S. President sued for “failure to prevent and complicity” for genocide. The lawsuit was filed on behalf of human rights organizations and U.S. Palestinian citizens by the Center for Constitutional Rights.

US Airman Sets Himself on Fire Outside Israeli Embassy
Aaron Bushnell, a 25-year-old US Airman, died on Feb. 25 after setting himself on fire outside the front gate of the Embassy of Israel in Washington, D.C. in support of Gaza.
Bushnell live-streamed his act of protest declaring “I will no longer be complicit in genocide” before setting himself ablaze.

India Bans Islamic Schools in Uttar Pradesh Before Elections
An Indian high court banned Islamic schools and madrasas in the country’s big state before elections— where one-fifth of the 240 million people are Muslims.
UN Security Council Passes Resolution Demanding Immediate Ceasefire
The United Nations Security Council passed a ceasefire resolution during Ramadan—it was the first resolution demanding a ceasefire to pass at the council after four previous failures. The U.S. abstained, all other members voted in favor.

Over 100 Arrested at Columbia in Pro-Palestine Protest
More than 108 people were arrested at Columbia University for an encampment protest on April 30. Student organizers set an encampment protest to call for the university to cut all financial ties with Israel.
Shooting at Philadelphia Eid Celebration
Three were injured in a shooting at an annual Eid celebration in Philadelphia, where approximately 1,000 people gathered.
Held outside a large mosque in the city’s Parkside neighborhood, the Eid al-Fitr event came to a sudden end when about 30 shots rang out at about 2:30 p.m., Philadelphia police said. Five people were taken into custody, including a 15-year-old boy.

Approximately 300 Dead, Thousands Injured in Afghanistan Floods
At least 300 were confirmed dead and thousands injured in flash floods that destroyed homes across Afghanistan’s northern province of Baghlan, the World Food Program said on May 11.
According to UNICEF, more than 50 of the deceased were children.

Texas Woman Arrested After Attempting to Drown 3-Year-Old Palestinian Child
Elizabeth Wolf was charged with attempted capital murder and injury to a child after trying to drown a 3-year-old Palestinian American Muslim girl at an apartment complex pool. Police officials said the May incident was motivated by racial bias because of racist comments Wolf made towards the child’s family.
Hundreds Died at Hajj From Intense Heat
About 600 people died at this year’s Hajj pilgrimage due to intense heat, hundreds more died from other causes including being elderly and chronically ill, officials said.

US President Joe Biden dropped out of the 2024 race for the White House on July 21 after a debate with Donald Trump. He posted a statement confirming his withdrawal on social media.

Polio Leaves Baby Partly Paralyzed in Gaza’s First Case in 25 Years
The World Health Organization (WHO) confirmed the first case of polio in the Gaza Strip in 25 years on August 27. The infection caused an infant to lose movement in his lower left leg.

Iran Launches Missiles into Tel Aviv, Israel
In its second attack on Israel in 2024, Iran launched almost 200 ballistic missiles towards Tel Aviv on Oct 1.
The Israeli military said most of the missiles were intercepted and a small number allegedly struck central and southern Israel.

More than 150 patients and staff were trapped at the Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahiya after an Israeli raid.

Israel Burns Hospital, Kidnaps Doctors, Leaves Northern Gaza Without Health Services
Israeli forced stormed into and burned the last functioning hospital in Northern Gaza after forcibly removing staff and patients, arresting them.
Troops beat Hospital Director Hussam Abu Safiya and kidnapped him alongside other doctors, leaving northern Gaza without any health services.
